Fat and the Moon Growing Belly Balm is an organic, plant-based moisturizer for pregnant bellies and any stretching or dry skin, including elbows, knees, feet, and mild rough patches on newborns. It is formulated to help skin retain moisture, support suppleness, and maintain skin integrity during periods of change. This balm is made with three ingredients: organic shea butter (Vitellaria paradoxa), organic cocoa butter (Theobroma cacao), and organic apricot kernel oil (Prunus armeniaca). The butters form a protective barrier that helps hold in moisture, while apricot kernel oil absorbs into the skin to promote softness, elasticity, and healthy cell regeneration. Use on wet skin, ideally in the shower, to help seal in moisture: massage onto damp, elastic skin and then towel dry as usual. The balm can be used regularly throughout pregnancy and postpartum, and is suitable for use on “littles” for localized rough or irritated patches. It is not formulated to fade existing stretch marks. Growing Belly Balm is made in small, freshly prepared batches and is intended to last about 6 months when stored in a cool, dry place. The formula is kept simple and does not include added vitamin E. Packaged in a printed amber glass jar with a tinplate plastisol-lined metal lid, the container is designed for reuse or recycling. Once empty, the jar can be repurposed or rinsed and placed in glass recycling; tin and aluminum lids are generally recyclable where facilities exist.
