Fat and the Moon Solid Conditioner is a concentrated, BTMS-free conditioner bar for all hair types and all genders, formulated to soften hair, gently seal in moisture, and support manageable, bouncy strands. It can also be used to soften and smooth beards, and may be applied as a rinse-out or as a light leave-in on damp hair. The bar features COSMOS and ECOCERT-certified ingredients (cetearyl alcohol, brassicyl valinate esylate, undecane, tridecane) as conditioning and texture agents. Organic coconut oil (Cocos nucifera), organic vegetable glycerin, and panthenol (vitamin B5) help hydrate and strengthen hair and support flexibility and definition. Pacific seaweeds—Turkish Towel (Gigartina exasperata), Bladderwrack (Fucus distichus), and Kombu (Laminaria setchellii)—contribute additional moisture and nutrients. Clary sage (Salvia sclarea) provides a grassy, herbal scent. The formula is vegan and BTMS-free to reduce reliance on quaternary ammonium compounds often associated with aquatic toxicity. Fat and the Moon formulates with organically cultivated and ethically harvested plants and avoids “toxins that make things last forever,” prioritizing non-toxic, plant-based ingredients. Use by wetting the bar, rubbing it between hands, then smoothing along the ends of the hair until a light conditioning slip is felt, followed by rinsing. For extra moisture, a small amount can be left in on damp hair. Each bar is intended to be low-waste and long-lasting, described by the brand as roughly equivalent to a bottle of conditioner. It is handmade under one roof by a small team in Nevada City, California. Packaging is a carton made from post-consumer waste paper, designed to be broken down and placed in paper recycling where facilities exist.
